ABOUT SHERIFF AARON ELLENBURG
ABOUT ME
• Born and raised in Rutherford County
• 26 years of continuous law enforcement service
• Law enforcement career spent almost exclusively serving the citizens of Rutherford County
• Local Sheriff, Police, State, and Federal law enforcement experience prior to being elected
Sheriff in 2022
• Currently serving on the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association Legislative Committee
• Currently serving on the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association Training Committee
• Actively involved in my community throughout my life
• Member of the National Rifle Association
• Currently serving on the Gilkey Community Center Advisory Committee
WORK EXPERIENCE
• Currently serving as Elected Sheriff (December 2022 – Present)
• North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles – License and Theft Bureau (October 2005 – December 2022): During this time, I was shown as a Federal Homeland Security Task Force Officer.
• Patrol Deputy, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (January 2004 – October 2005)
• Patrol Officer, Forest City Police Department (June 2000 – January 2004)
• Reserve Officer, Rutherfordton Police Department (November 1999 – June 2000)
